The troops of the Nigerien National Guard (GNN), at their N’Gagam position on Friday, ambushed a white Hilux vehicle at the Ouragou village and arrested two persons found in it, Zagazola Makama has reported.
The guards pursued the vehicle to Ndjariho (about 28km northwest of Kablewa), the GNN troops from the N’Gagam position engaged in a pursuit spanning more than 30km, and the people in the Hilux vehicle were forced to abandon their vehicles northeast of Ndjariho following a flat tire.
After the vehicle broke down, the two individuals continued to flee on foot but the troops pursued them, and caught up with the first person after about 2killometres from Ndjariho, and the second person after a 20 kilometre chase towards the village of Barram Moussa.
Items discovered in the Hilux vehicle included one box of 1400 cartridges of 7.62x39mm and 19 cartridges of 700 cartridges each; six medium packs of 100 cartridges each of 7.62x 39mm; 58 small packs of 20 cartridges of 7,62x39mm each, 6,970 cartridges of 7.5x39mm in a total bags of 23,430 cartridges of 7.62x39mm.
